Welcome

Each year, WIVP sends teams of Wharton MBA students overseas to work on development projects in emerging economies. We work with small, local organizations with limited resources and seek to design projects that will allow these organizations to derive maximum benefit from our volunteers' business skills and experience. Projects typically involve two to four students and last two to four weeks, supplemented by preparatory and follow-up work conducted remotely.

During the summer of 2005, WIVP sent over 55 students on 20 projects to 17 developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Volunteers worked with organizations involved in areas as diverse as micro-finance and AIDS education, and worked on projects ranging from strategic planning to information systems development.

Some of the countries where WIVP has worked in previous years are highlighted on the map below. Click on a country name to see the projects carried out!
